The Tyson family has a long and happy association with the Riverina and south-west New South Wales.
Ancestors of today's generation forged a living as farming pioneers on the Hay Plains in the late 1800s after the original Australian branch of the family journeyed to the colonies not long after European settlement.
The Tysons have long had an affinity with the land - making the most of the climate and the natural environment to achieve progress regardless of often trying times and harsh seasons.
It is this spirit and willingness to adapt to all conditions which placed Ken Tyson in good stead when he decided to start a turf farm at Wagga Wagga in 1989.
