TURF CLIPPINGS
When it comes to all things turf, few people can claim to know more than Ken Tyson.
Away from producing the finest grasses and lawns, Ken has another turf love
... that of thoroughbred horse racing.
He inherited his passion for the turf - the racing kind - down through a long line of Tysons who have played a significant part in the development of the Sport of Kings in the Riverina.
His late father, Osbert Kenneth Ian Tyson, was Chairman of Wagga Wagga's Murrumbidgee Turf Club from 1961-73 and a member of the committee from 1958-75.
Ken served on the MTC committee/board of directors from 1982-2002 and, like his Dad, was deservedly made a life member for his dedication to the club.
He was also President of the Wagga Wagga Amateur Picnic Race Club in 1985-86 and over the years has raced some handy gallopers.
